There is no greater example of how our thoughts can create our reality than the statement that “energy flows where attention goes.” Sometimes it’s not the grand gestures or situations that present themselves, but the small ones. Maybe it’s the wonderful synchronicity of thinking about a person you haven’t spoken to in a while, then having them call you shortly thereafter. Sometimes it’s the sleepless nights when you toss and turn thinking about something you dread happening, only to have that very fear come to life in living color. Is it synchronicity or something else?

I got my hands-on real-life experience with thoughts creating reality years ago when I read a book call E-Squared by Pam Grout. The subtitle of the book is Nine Do-It-Yourself Energy Experiments That Prove Your Thoughts Create Your Reality. It’s a skinny book with some powerful concepts about manifesting and how the game of manifesting is a conspicuous creating interaction with The Universe. I did those experiments and was blown away by the fact that I proved each and every one of the principles to myself. So much so that when I am going through periods of doubt, I do those experiments again as a reminder that the principle of thought creating reality is always true. One of my teachers has an even more delicious way of looking at it. She encourages me to live in the energy of “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if...” I recently had the absolute joy of appearing as a guest of a friend who has a podcast called the “I love it when…” podcast. Accident? Not a chance. Back in October I focused on how wonderful it would be if I got the opportunity to guest on a great podcast so I could speak about what I do. The energy of that thought manifested in the form of an invitation to do said podcast a couple of weeks later. Although it took time to record the podcast due to schedule delays from the holidays and my new puppy, the podcast recording happened last week. Ultimately my dream became reality, delivered quickly by the Universe, delayed only because of my limitations of schedule.
That brings up another concept: thought forms being nothing but energy. Something that makes me smile in excitement on a regular basis is theories about Quantum physics (I am,

without a shred of guilt, a real geek). The short version is that Einstein and his E=MC2 means that mass and energy are two forms of the same thing. It also means that everything is made of energy, vibrating at a different frequency. My quick and easy experiment to show this involves rubbing your palms together to generate friction, then pulling your hands apart then slowly putting them together again. That squishy thing that you feel in between your hands is energy. (Many noted teachers in the field of energy have detailed explanations on this phenomenon) The long and short of it is that we are actually made up of energy. My go-to explanation of how this plays out is to think of how you feel when a person who is very angry comes into your space, and how without saying a word, you can tell the ‘vibration’ has changed. Yup, that vibration generated by the angry person is energy in action. We are all fond of talking about the vibe of a room… it is nothing but the vibratory energy present in the room, which is ultimately generated by the individual(s) in the room.
Pam Grout goes on throughout the book to have explanations and then exercises that prove her nine amazing and convincing exercises about how your thoughts create your reality. What’s the bottom line here? Watch what directions your thoughts take. Constant thoughts of fear, gloom and doom may result in the manifestation of the fear, gloom and doom that you persistently think about. It also puts a pin in the bubble of a persistent and annoying

thought form in our society that “there just isn’t enough to go around”. I beg to differ. We live in an abundant Universe, that continues to abundantly provide for us. It’s changing our energetic input, our thoughts to those rejoicing in the reality of abundance that surrounds us, that allows us to see how richly we are provided for.
I got a nudge about it just last week. I was getting some small goodies for friends for Valentines Day and writing them notes to tell them how much I appreciated their friendship. I was very happy to have the time to make the purchases, and knew they would give my friends some brightness in their day. One of the things I gave them was a chocolate bar with salted almonds, just because I like chocolate with salted almonds. I delivered the goodies over two days and got two days’ worth of smiles knowing that my friends would be happy and surprised. Late on the evening I made the purchases, I was food shopping and was told that I had an opportunity to accept a thank-you gift from the loyalty program in the store. That loyalty gift was…you guessed it, a chocolate bar with salted almonds. Big smile for days….and THANK YOU UNIVERSE.
I continue to be amazed at how thoughts and actions and energy produce reality in the Universe...but that’s just how the Universe rolls. Makes me more determined than ever to keep my thoughts and energy positive…love those good vibrations!
